Collective Demonstration
Invited as lecturer, I am hosting a workshop that is dedicated to promoting the use of bamboo as a sustainable material. Through hands-on learning, participants will have the opportunity to master the skills of creating bamboo products, ranging from traditional crafts to modern designs. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced artisan, this workshop provides a creative platform for you to explore the endless possibilities of bamboo.
Join me as we share the beauty and practicality of this exceptional material. I will be demonstration the weaving techniques and bamboo bending to the students.

Design Trust Fridays: Inaugural Showcase Public Opening
Design Trust, an initiative of the Hong Kong Ambassadors of Design, is pleased to announce that Design Trust Fridays: Inaugural Showcase will open to the public weekly on Fridays by appointment from 29th September 2023. The Inaugural Showcase presents snapshot of key moments of time that brings together the regional and international design community together through Design Trust’s grants and community platform.
Pluto in Attic
"Pluto In Attic" is an exhibition that developed from the imagination of Parallel Space as a person, exploring the struggle between the outer-self and the inner-self. Together with the local legend, Canton Disco, seven emerging artists employ memories, stories and imagination to form the whole exhibition.

This is one of the routine gatherings chez Gamzar @Gamhaus. This time the theme is inspired by “Gemini” which indicates also “twins” in its definition. This idea is to give us all an opportunity to gemini with someone for one night - GEMINIGHT.

Hearts & Hands: Crafts of Hong Kong is a celebration of the skills and creativity of Hong Kong’s artisans and a reminder of the importance of craftsmanship in preserving the city’s culture and heritage. Crafts on Peel hopes that it will inspire visitors to revive, reinterpret and perpetuate traditional crafts in their own lives, and to play a part in keeping alive Hong Kong’s rich culture of craftsmanship.

RIMOWA 'As Seen By' Berlin
One year and seven countries later, the As Seen By exhibition has reached its final stop.
For the first time, we will be exhibiting the works of over 60 artists who have participated in the project along its global journey, as well as new never-before-seen artworks created especially for the finale.

「リモワ(RIMOWA)」が、世界巡回展「AS SEEN BY」を原宿の「バツアートギャラリー(BA-TSU ART GALLERY)」で開催する。会期は8月26日から29日まで。リモワ公式LINEアカウントから優先入場予約を受け付けている。
同展はパリでスタートし、マイアミ、韓国、香港、ミラノ、北京と巡回。「AS SEEN BY」シリーズはパンデミック以前、ローカルアーティストと作品を支援する取り組みとしてスタートしたが、ロックダウン後は、リモワのスーツケースの製造に使用される原材料をアーティストに提供し、作品制作を委託する形へと変化した。

“As Seen By所见” 展览北京站于坐落在活力街区三里屯太古里的北京瑜舍酒店举办,以更高的视角诠释 RIMOWA(日默瓦) 最具标志性的材料。展览汇集了包括国际和中国本土艺术家在内的不同类型艺术家,RIMOWA(日默瓦)为他们提供了包括沟槽式铝镁合金板和配件在内的创作材料。每位艺术家都凭借其精湛的技艺和独特的视觉表现力入选,并创造出了独一无二的创意作品。尽管艺术家们的风格各异,但以这些共享材料为纽带,他们创造出了贯穿整个展览的共同视觉语言。

RIMOWA ‘As Seen By’ Hong Kong
“As Seen By,” is an exhibition of artworks open to the public that has been curated by RIMOWA in partnership with art collective The Community. and opened at Soho House Hong Kong.
Once “As Seen By” closes in Hong Kong, the exhibition will tour the world, with local artists featured at each destination along the way. It will conclude in Berlin.
CREATIONS ENLIVENED: METAL AT LONDON CRAFT WEEK 2022 9 May, 2022 - 15 May, 2022

The exhibition reveals the rich history of metalwork, and contemporary adaptations of those traditional techniques responding to the demand of modern days, while contemporary artisans strive to convey our culture and traditions through the elegance, strength and durability of their metal creations.

Crafts on Peel will be participating in this year’s London Craft Week showcasing traditional and contemporary craft from Hong Kong! Co-sponsored by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in London, IMAGINE THE ‘IM’POSSIBILITIES: BAMBOO will be on view at Soho Works at 180 Strand from October 4-10.
By learning how to bend the bamboo sticks at the event, participants are encouraged to discover a new language and culture of this traditional craft through this manual practice, and reinterpret the different possibilities of bamboo.
IMAGINE THE ‘IM’POSSIBILITIES: BAMBOO | LONDON CRAFT WEEK 2021
Crafts on Peel announces IMAGINE THE ‘IM’POSSIBILITIES: BAMBOO, an exhibition at London Craft Week 2021 showcasing traditional and contemporary bamboo craft from Hong Kong taking place at Soho Works 180 Strand from October 4 to 10, 2021. This program is co-sponsored by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in London.
CRAFT X DESIGN: MATERIAL DISCOVERY WORKSHOP – GALVANIZED IRON
Galvanized iron is an alloy of iron coated with zinc, which is soft and durable. It is the most affordable metal amongst all metals. Galvanized iron can be flattened and folded tightly to form a joint, not requiring any glue or nail. In this workshop, the participant will discover and explore the natures of galvanized iron. There are seven traditional galvanized iron craft techniques – drawing, marking, cutting, wrapping, folding, flattening, and buckling. Through hands-on experience, the participant will learn three basic skills, cutting, flattening and buckling.
CREATIONS ENLIVENED: METAL
Creations Enlivened: Metal, showcases the works of craftsmen from Hong Kong and Japan, working with a myriad of metals, such as copper, brass, silver, tin and galvanized iron. Traditional metal craftsmen and contemporary artisans collaborate to adapt traditional metal techniques to modern day demands, while young artisans strive to convey our culture and traditions through the elegance, strength and durability of their metal creations.
CRAFT X DESIGN: MATERIAL DISCOVERY WORKSHOP – BAMBOO
By learning how to bend the bamboo sticks, participants are encouraged to discover a new language and culture of this traditional craft through this manual practice, and reinterpret the different possibilities of bamboo. In the workshop, you will experience from splitting the bamboo to handling the materials. With the help of design thinking and scientific thinking, we will relearn shaping with bamboo, weave the surface(patch) with bamboo, and discover the folk wisdom hidden in bamboo crafts.
